Join Spinoza Havurah for a Rosh Hashanah celebration built around the Seder HaSimanim — the “Yehi Ratzones,” an ancient Sephardi ritual of blessings over symbolic foods that greets the new year with hope. Practised for centuries across Jewish communities worldwide, this seder pairs Hebrew, Ladino, and English blessings with reflections and discussion prompts, turning each bite into a wish — and a question — for the year ahead.
To take part, please bring at least one of the following simanim to your screen: 🍎 Apple & honey (mansanas i miel) 🌴 Dates (datles) 🫘 Black-eyed peas / beans (avikas) 🎃 Pumpkin or gourd (kalavasas) 🧅 Leeks (prasas) 🍇 Pomegranate (granadas) 🌱 Artichoke (kavesas)
Come with your plate, your voice, and your hopes for a sweet new year.
Anyada buena, dulse i alegre — a good year, sweet and happy!
